A New York return after 22 years! The Alloy Theater Company presents "Tell Me On A Sunday" with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Don Black and Richard Maltby, Jr. and stars 2007 MAC award nominee Maxine Linehan. In Norm Clarke’s Vegas Confidential column in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, he reports that composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, in town to tape an “American Idol” segment involving “Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular” (Venetian), checked out JERSEY BOYS at The Palazzo on Thursday night.
According to The Stage News, writer Ben Elton will be teaming up with Andrew Lloyd Webber on the upcoming sequel to Phantom of the Opera. Elton teamed up with Webber in 2000 to write the book and lyrics for The Beautiful Game. He has recently worked as book writer for the musicals We Will Rock You and Tonight's The Night.
The first time I saw an audition for a New York show was right after college when I went to lend support to my actor friend Ellie as she tried out for a part in a showcase production at Equity Library Theater when it was in the basement of an apartment building on Riverside Drive.
